Comprehensive Oral
Examination and Digital X-Rays
Routine dental exams are a big part of
maintaining a healthy smile. At Hillcrest
Dental Care, we offer comprehensive dental
exams for the entire family. At each exam,
we check for signs of tooth decay, gum
disease, oral cancer, and other potential
problems that require treatment. X-rays of
your mouth may also be taken during your
dental exam. Digital x-rays produce an image
that can be viewed during your visit on our
computer screens in each operatory.
Cleanings:
Prophylaxes
Routine cleanings (prophylaxis) are
important for any patient who has the desire
to keep their teeth forever! The most
successful methods of maintaining your oral
health care through the use of effective
daily oral hygiene including brushing and
flossing, as well as regularly scheduled
professional cleanings and examinations. |

Dental Sealants
A dental sealant is a plastic coating that
is placed on the teeth to form a protective
barrier that prevents cavities and decay.
Sealants are especially beneficial when
placed on the chewing surfaces of the back
teeth, which are the most difficult to
clean. Dental sealants are most commonly
recommended for children; however, some
adults may benefit from this preventative
measure as well.
Restorative
Dentistry
There is nothing more beautiful than a
natural healthy smile. We can restore your
smile to an attractive, functional state
with crowns; tooth colored fillings,
porcelain bridges, and other precision fit
restorations. We are dedicated to making
durable, natural, long lasting restorations. |
| |
|
Fillings
Patients who need to have
cavities filled or metallic
fillings replaced can receive
tooth-colored fillings. Made of
durable ceramic material,
natural looking fillings are an
attractive and safe alternative
to traditional metallic
fillings. |

Root Canal
Root Canal (Endodontic Therapy) is the
removal of the pulp tissue from the tooth.
The pulp tissue refers to the nerve and
blood vessels of the tooth. Endodontic
Therapy may be necessary to save your
natural tooth if the pulp tissue is
irreversibly damaged by bacteria associated
with decay, very deep fillings, tooth
fracture or trauma, or periodontal disease. |
| |
|
Root
Canal Therapy
Inside each tooth is the pulp,
which provides nutrients and
nerves to the tooth, it runs
like a thread down through the
root. When the pulp is diseased
or injured, the pulp tissue
dies. If you don't remove it,
your tooth gets infected and you
could lose it. After the dentist
removes the pulp, the root canal
is cleaned and sealed off to
protect it. Then your dentist
places a protective porcelain
crown that strengthens the tooth
and prolongs its use. Most of
the time, a root canal is a
relatively simple procedure with
little or no discomfort
involving one to three visits.
Best of all, it can save your
tooth and your smile! |

Dentures
If you have experienced loss of your natural
teeth from periodontal disease, tooth decay,
or injury, it can often be uncomfortable and
embarrassing. Your appearance and your
health will benefit from replacing missing
teeth. Dentures are made of durable
materials resulting in a natural smile and
can last for years when cared for properly.
Hillcrest Dental Care provides both
conventional and immediate placement of
dentures at our practice
Periodontal
Care: Scaling and Root Planning
Scaling and root planning is the most common
and conservative form of treatment for
periodontal (gum) disease. Scaling is
basically the process of removing dental
tartar from the surfaces of the teeth. Root
planning is the process of smoothing the
root surfaces and removing any infected
tooth structure.
Whitening |
Bleaching Trays
Tooth whitening lightens teeth and helps to
remove stains and discoloration. Whitening
is among the most popular cosmetic dental
procedures because it can greatly improve
how your teeth look. The most common type of
tooth whitening uses a gel-like whitening
solution that is applied directly to the
tooth surface. This product contains some
form of hydrogen peroxide. We offer
bleaching trays for in-home whitening. |
